Carmel High School's mock trial team, coached by attorneys Rodney Sarkovics and Kevin Klausing and teacher Holly Hochstedler, won the 10th annual Hamilton County Mock Trial Competition besting ten teams from eight local schools.
Carmel High School students also took home individual awards for best defense attorney (Zoe Yan) who was the recipient of the $500.00 scholarship given by the Hamilton County Bar Association for best overall attorney; best prosecuting attorney (Ivana Huang); best Dr. I.M. Wright witness (Elise Ruff) and best Dr. D. Muir witness (Priya Patel).
The competition was coordinated by Stephenie Gookins. Other attorneys from Campbell Kyle Proffitt who played active roles in this year's competition were Jeffrey Nickloy, Andrew Barker, Scott Wyatt and Russell Cate who served as volunteer judges and Scott Smith, who was the attorney advisor for one of the Noblesville High School teams.
