DEBORAH L. FARMER was admitted to the bar in Indiana in 1983. Her undergraduate degree, cum laude, was obtained from Butler University in 1976, and her law degree from Indiana University, magna cum laude, in 1983. Ms. Farmer served as the first counsel to the President of the Indiana State Bar Association, and served as President of the Indiana Bar Foundation from 1998-2000. She is also a past chair of the Family and Juvenile Law Section. Ms. Farmer is a Fellow of the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers and is one of the four attorneys in the firm recognized by Martindale-Hubbell Law Directory with its highest rating. Ms. Farmer's practice is concentrated in the areas of divorce and domestic relations mediation, and she chairs the firm's Family Law and Mediation Practice Groups. She is co-chair of the Family Law Certification Board for Indiana and has frequently served as a speaker and seminar chair for professional seminars on divorce law and practice. Ms. Farmer is active in the community, having served as Chair of the Administrative Board and pianist for First United Methodist Church, Noblesville, and musical director for various area theater organizations. She has twice been included in Indianapolis Monthly Magazine's listing of its Top 50 Indiana Lawyers.
